PMV d.o.o. (PMV) is a small company for:

  • Development and production of motor spindles and pneumatic stretching devices
  • Laser cutting of metal sheets and ceramics (SMT stencils, gobos, precision shapes)
  • Production of mechanical parts on request - turning and milling on CNC machines

Precise motor spindles produced by PMV are mostly used for drilling and milling machines for printed circuit production. Besides motor spindles, PMV in connection with sub-contractor could provides also amplifiers (with possibility to develop a specific type) for controlling EC motors in spindles which gives PMV the opportunity to offer complete solutions to the market.

With their own development and technological knowledge and experience PMV is capable to develop a new family of motor spindles with innovative tool change mechanism adequate to given specific technical demands and characteristics.

10 years presence on the market, patents world-wide and cooperation with other partners in the project (giving market information, technical specifications, product evaluation) is the base for entering the new market field (motor spindles for small CNC machines and partly for wood industry) which is one of strategic goals of the company for next five years.

Biotechnical Faculty, Department of Wood Science and Technology, Chair of Mechanical Woodworking Technologies (BF) have expertise in dynamical analysis including measuring protocols, modelling and simulations of real physical systems:

  • Dynamical behaviour of machine tool construction and cutting tools (FEM methods)
  • Dynamical properties of materials used in machine tool and cutting tools,
  • Vibrations in linear and non-linear systems, active and passive damping
  • Stability of cutting process as a self-induced vibration process
  • Active damping (electro-magnetic actuators) of machine tools and cutting tools
  • Cutting tools; blade geometry, materials used in cutting tools construction, dynamic load of cutting tool, forced and self-induced vibration of cutting tool, tool life and tool wear

The Wood Industry Cluster (WIC) and his members have a very comprehensive knowledge on the fields of Forestry, Wood-processing, Project management of joint projects and Networking.

The staffs of the WIC office have more than 19 years of working experience in the wood-processing sector, especially in the field of clustering, development, project coordination and management, participation in EU projects as well as in TQM. WIC has organized and coordinated over 50 collective projects and over 300 meetings since 1999. Beside this WIC has been involved in several international projects from 6.FP, Interreg and LdV programmes. It has established close contacts with most of existing Slovenian educational, research, development and supporting organizations and international networks in forest-based sectors. The professional WIC staffs have more than 18 years of working experience in the wood-working sector, especially in the fields of; project management, R&D, clustering and in TQM. They have also an international certificate for project management awarded by International project management association - IPMA.
